Day 02: Mumbai-Cochin
Flight 0840/1025 hours-Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cochin (Kochi).
On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Cochin,
Kerala's commercial center, which has a fine natural harbor. Cochin is famous
for the Mattanchery Palace, St. Francis Church, Wellington Island, Bolghatty
Island, Chinese Fishing nets and Jewish Synagogue. Cruising on the back-waters
provides glimpses of the rural life, fine view of the harbor and three islands.
Return to your hotel to stay overnight.

Day 03: Cochin-Periyar
drive, 180 km-Drive to Periyar and on arrival, check-in at the hotel. Periyar
sanctuary, spread over an area of 777 sq km, has about 35 tigers and leopards.
However, sighting a tiger in Periyar is a rare occurrence because of the dense
forest. The park encompassesa 26 sq km artificial lake and is the home of
sambars, wild boars, elephants and antelopes, which can be seen on the banks of
the river during a boat cruise. Periyar, otherwise, blessed by Nature has
enormous tea, coffee, pepper and cardamom plantations and has lush green hills.
In the afternoon take a boat-cruise on Lake Periyar to view the wildlife. Stay
overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Periyar-Kumarakom,
176 km (via Kottayam)-Drive to Kumarakom via Kottayam. Kottayam, 64 kms from
Cochin, is a commercial center of Kerala. Dotted with churches and covered with
rubber plantations, Kottayam is just 16 km away from Kumarakom and Vembanand
Lake. To the city's west are delightful backwaters and to its east is the most
fertile and scenic part of the Western Ghats having rubber, tea, coffee, pepper
and cardamom plantations. On arrival, transfer by ferry to backwater Resort.

Day 05: Embark on Houseboat /Thottappally
village-Rice Barge After breakfast, board a Kerala Houseboat, popularly known as
'Kettuvalam'. Today cruise through Pallathuruthy Canal, Karimpavalavu village,
Karumady canal - a long stretch of narrow canal - to reach Thottappally village
for night stay. Enroute you can visit Karumady Kuttan (a statue of Buddha and a
Temple). Evening witness the sunset through the coconut palms. Dinner under a
million stars. Sleep and dream with the pleasant roll of the backwater.
Overnight stay on the houseboat.
